JOB TITLE: Assistant Production Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assistant Production Manager sought by early stage company developing agricultural products to become part of their dynamic growing biotech team. This is an exciting opportunity that will allow a candidate to begin a new, long-term career, and grow with the team.
Duties include
• Supervises, instructs and trains production personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems and providing guidance and resolve to difficult or complex problems
• Evaluates and monitors employees' job performance and conformance to regulations, and recommend appropriate personnel action.
• Ensures shipping, receiving, purchasing, inventory, storage, and distribution are performed in a cost effective and efficient manner.
• Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintain production area, clean room, and equipment.
• Recognizes and solves problems affecting production including schedules, staff, quality, and order of production line. Operates and maintains equipment
• Interprets and communicates work procedures and company policies to staff.
• Loads, unloads, moves, and stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions.
• Suggests improvements to distribution procedures, and acts to improve timeliness or reduce costs.
• Completes reports for management.
• Completes non-complex jobs to maintain or repair buildings, fixtures, furniture, or equipment.
• Accountable for achievement of plant performance objectives and product quality.
REQUIREMENTS: Position in manufacturing and production in a microbiology lab environment. Applicants should have the following skills:
• Two (2) years or more experience in supervisory role is essential.
• Production experience is a plus. Experience in microbiology, biology or science related lab helpful
• Must be able to multitask, be highly motivated with a positive attitude, be very hands-on and willing to learn how to use new equipment and handling repetitive tasks with great efficiency.
• Must be able to repetitively lift 50 pounds.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and multi-project environment.
• Should be able to organize, analyze, and develop goals and plans to prioritize and accomplish work to choose the best solution and solve problems.
• Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Excel and Word
• Must possess the ability to listen to, speak to, present, and understand information and be able to communicate with supervisors, peers or subordinates by providing information via telephone, written form, email or in person.
• Must be able to provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance, encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
• Must be dependable. Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
